The American Psychological Association (APA) is the leading scientific and professional organisation representing psychology in the United States, with more than 190,000 members including researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants, and students. APA's mission is to promote the advancement, communication, and application of psychological science and knowledge to benefit society and improve lives.

APA publishes authoritative resources including the APA Style guide, PsycInfo, and PsycNet; sets ethical standards for the profession; and advocates for psychology's role in addressing societal challenges. Its annual convention and divisions span the full breadth of psychological science—from cognitive and neuropsychology to clinical practice and public policy.
